Last week, Thailand reported a staggering 65,007 new COVID-19 cases and eight deaths from May 18 to May 24, as per the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA).

The chilling tally of new cases and fatalities were reported by the CCSA during the stated period. As the pandemic continues to wreak havoc, the country's cumulative cases from January 1 to May 24 surpassed 204,965, with the death toll reaching a grim 51.
According to the CCSA, 3,544 patients are currently hospitalized, while 61,463 are on the road to recovery at home. Despite these grim statistics, it's important to highlight that the number of new cases has shown a decrease compared to the earlier peaks.

The provinces of Bangkok, Chon Buri, Nonthaburi, Samut Prakan, and Rayong are the hardest hit, battling the virus head-on with the highest number of patients every day.
