Applications for the 2026 HRCIF will be available shortly

The Halton Region Community Investment Fund (HRCIF) is gearing up for its 2026 funding year, offering up to three years of funding for non-profit human service programs and initiatives. The fund, a key component of Halton's Community Safety and Well-Being planning, aims to enhance the health, safety, and well-being of Halton residents with an annual budget of $5 million.

The primary source for updates, application forms, eligibility criteria, and funding guidelines is the HRCIF web page. Applicants for the 2026 HRCIF must be registered charities, non-profit, charitable, or unincorporated community groups.

Category One of the 2026 Community Investment Fund provides funding for short-term, small capital, or innovative projects. Grants, up to a maximum of $30,000 for up to one year, are available for these projects. Organisations are encouraged to apply during this intake period, as it may be the only one offered for the 2026 funding year.

For more information about the HRCIF and the application process, interested parties are invited to attend information sessions on September 25, 2025, and October 8, 2025. Registration details for these sessions will be posted on the HRCIF web page in the coming weeks.

The 2026 HRCIF application period will open in mid-September. Proposals that demonstrate collaborative approaches are encouraged. Unfortunately, no specific information about Category Two was provided in the available data.

The Region encourages organisations to think ahead about projects or initiatives for the fund. For any further queries, please contact [email protected].
