Baden-Württemberg Leaders Visit Heidelberg's Innovationscampus to Showcase Biomedical Tech Hub

Baden-Württemberg's Minister-President Winfried Kretschmann and Minister of Science Petra Olschowski will visit the Innovationscampus of the Health + Life Science Alliance Heidelberg Mannheim on September 4, 2025. The visit underscores the strategic importance of the science location Heidelberg and aims to showcase the Alliance's activities and innovations in biomedical technology, life sciences, and health insurance.

The Alliance, funded by the state, focuses on establishing common high-tech platforms and collaborative research projects with industry. During the visit, Prof. Dr. Kerstin Goepfrich, Prof. Dr. Michael Platten, Prof. Dr. Sandy Engelhardt, and Prof. Dr. Dr. Felix Sahm will present on cooperation, translation, and the transfer of research results into practical applications. Prof. Dr. Michael Boutros, Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Wick, and Dr. Andrea Leibfried will update attendees on the current status, perspectives, and potential of the Alliance.

The event will include an official opening of the Alliance's new seminar and co-working spaces. Researchers and founders will present their projects and start-ups in short presentations and live demonstrations, offering insights into innovations from various fields such as infectious diseases, mental health, molecular engineering, and cancer neuroscience through a 'Gallery Walk'.

The visit by Minister-President Kretschmann and Minister Olschowski highlights the importance of the Alliance in developing the Rhine-Neckar region into an internationally recognized biomedical-technological marketplace.
