Bay Club Expands Fitness Empire with Acquisition of Prestigious LA Club
Bay Club Company has expanded its fitness empire with the acquisition of Griffin Club Los Angeles, a prestigious racquet, fitness, and social institution on the Westside of Los Angeles. This marks Bay Club's third acquisition of 2025, following the purchases of 425 Fitness and Harbor Square Athletic Club in the Pacific Northwest.
The acquisition of Griffin Club, which underwent a $30 million rebuild in 2018, adds 11 LED-lit tennis and pickleball courts, coaching, classes, high-end fitness equipment, personal training, two outdoor swimming pools, kids programs, and curated dining to Bay Club's portfolio. This brings Bay Club's total locations to over 30, serving more than 150,000 members.
Bay Club's chief marketing officer, Tracy Cioffi, praised Griffin Club's legacy and prime location, stating it was an ideal fit for their portfolio. Bay Club's growth has been driven by its Shared Membership model, which allows groups of up to eight people to customize their access across locations and amenities, broadening the definition of 'family' to include friends, coworkers, and neighbors.
With the acquisition of Griffin Club Los Angeles, Bay Club continues its strategic expansion into new regions while focusing on strengthening its current campuses. The addition of Griffin Club's exceptional facilities and amenities further solidifies Bay Club's commitment to delivering an unparalleled active lifestyle experience to its growing membership base.
