According to Dr. Yingli Lu, a study author, "Our findings highlight that although patients with diabetes are at a higher risk of developing dementia, adhering to an overall healthy lifestyle may greatly reduce this risk."

It's important to note that while this study points to the potential benefits of a healthy lifestyle for people with type 2 diabetes, further research is needed to establish causality.
