Elderly Community Donates €600 to Women's Association
During the chilly days of mid-February, the bigwigs of IG Metall Koblenz's Senior Circle dropped a generous donation of 600 euros to the tireless warriors at the Koblenz Women's Shelter Support Association.
The dough was collected during a fun-filled fundraiser at the Senior Circle's annual bash, which went down at the snazzy Weinhaus Wirges on December 13, 2024. After taking care of the formalities, the gang settled in for a cozy get-together. An action-packed auction of miscellaneous goodies and a heartwarming donation drive bumped up the total to a whopping 600 euros.
"Huge thanks to all you dynamos for chipping in," beamed Edeltraud Grewel, the Senior Circle's official mouthpiece, when asked for a comment. "As seniors, it's our duty to stay active and contributing members of our community. It's a tradition for us to set aside a charitable cause each year and throw a fundraiser exclusively for it."
The non-profit Koblenz Women's Shelter Support Association relies heavily on donations and operates with a volunteer crew. These contributions can help the ladies who seek refuge in the shelter by supplying them with an urgent care kit (food and personal hygiene necessities) or helping them out in a tight financial bind.
"In line with their annual tradition, the Senior Circle, after their successful fundraiser, decided to channel their donation towards a health-and-wellness cause this year, specifically focusing on women's health through the Koblenz Women's Shelter Support Association. This support may aid in procuring other resources such as necessary medical supplies or educational materials for women's science-based health research."
