Emergency services under attack in Gera by LPI-G
In an unexpected turn of events, a 27-year-old Somalian was involved in an incident that occurred in Nicolaistraße, Gera, on the evening of Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 10:05 PM.
According to a report transmitted by the Gera Police Inspectorate, the incident involved rescue personnel who were attending to a case. The Gera Emergency Control Center had requested police assistance.
During the incident, the 27-year-old man attacked the rescue personnel in the ambulance. As a result, a 48-year-old paramedic was hit on the left arm. Despite being slightly injured, the paramedic managed to continue their duty.
A brave paramedic managed to block a blow to their face, but they were still injured in the process. The attacker was subsequently restrained by police officers.
A drug test on the attacker showed positive results for several sedatives. This led to the initiation of a criminal investigation against the 27-year-old for assaulting emergency service personnel.
