In the heart of Neuss, Germany, the Carnival Committee recently honoured the outstanding service of emergency personnel during this year's festivities. A total of fifteen awards were presented to helpers from all participating organisations, including the Johanniters, Maltesers, Red Cross, and local emergency services.

The awards, presented after the conclusion of the event, acknowledged the exceptional work of the emergency personnel who deployed a total of 18 times throughout the Carnival. Among these deployments, six were with ambulances, eleven with rescue vehicles, and one with an emergency doctor vehicle.

The awards served as a token of gratitude for the tireless efforts of the initial care teams, who are part of the emergency personnel. In three critical cases, these teams provided initial treatment before transportation to the clinic. One such case involved a convulsing child, for whom additional psychological support was also provided to a relative and bystanders.

Dieter Guderley, spokesperson for the regional association of the Niederrhein and coordinator of volunteers for the Rhein-Kreis Neuss, expressed his appreciation for the extraordinary friendliness of the participants and guests. He noted that personal thanks and shouts of appreciation for the service of helpers were expressed "very, very often" during the event.

Mayor Reiner Breuer and Carnival Committee President Andreas Picker presented the awards as a recognition of the helpers' service during the event. However, the specific nature of the awards and the recipients' identities were not disclosed in the article.

Last year, the number of deployments for 71 emergency medical technicians, paramedics, and emergency service personnel, as well as the emergency physician, decreased by approximately 22 percent compared to the previous year. Despite this decrease, the commitment and dedication of these helpers were evident during this year's Carnival.

For more detailed statistics and incident reports for emergency medical services during specific events in Neuss, Germany, it is recommended to consult local emergency service agencies or fire brigade reports, official press releases from Neuss city administration or healthcare authorities, or regional police or rescue coordination centres' public records or archives.

The recipients of the awards, recognizing their exceptional work during the Carnival, were healthcare professionals from diverse organizations such as the Red Cross, Maltesers, Johanniters, and local emergency services. This health-and-wellness team, aside from their tireless emergency services, also provided other critical services, including initial treatment, psychological support for a convulsing child, and transportation to a clinic in three critical cases.
