Exploring the Everyday Tales of Social Groups in Association with CALM
In a heartfelt collaboration, music collective CLIQUES has released a new EP titled "Life Experiences Of..." in partnership with the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM). This project aims to raise awareness for mental health issues and suicide prevention, offering a beacon of hope and support for those struggling with mental health challenges.
The EP features a diverse group of artists, each bringing their unique perspective to the table. Vio.let found writing strings for this project to be an emotional process, cathartic in its own right. Genesis Elijah, who has lost family and friends to suicide, contributed to the EP as it is personal and real. LU:KE, making his debut on this EP, has poured heart and soul into the lyrics, production, and composition. Sam Sapphire, Grim Sickers, and others have also joined the project, finding it a beautiful and fulfilling experience.
The EP is not an EP of rave anthems but instead aims to provide support to those in need. LU:KE hopes the EP can release listeners from dark memories, thoughts, and moments, while Vio.let believes the tracks can lift those who listen as much as they gave strength while writing.
CALM is a charity organisation that stands against suicide and offers support for mental health challenges. They aim to change the narrative around suicide by offering life-saving support, launching impactful campaigns, and fostering a community of solidarity. All proceeds from the EP will go directly to CALM, furthering their mission to provide assistance every day of the year through their informative website and dedicated helpline.
This initiative aligns with broader mental health awareness efforts that emphasize education, accessibility of resources, and community support. By bringing personal life experiences into the conversation, the partnership seeks to reduce stigma around mental health struggles and motivate people to seek help or support others in distress, potentially saving lives through early intervention and increased empathy.
The EP "Life Experiences Of..." is a testament to the power of music and storytelling in raising awareness and fostering understanding for mental health issues. CLIQUES and CALM hope that the EP will find people when they most need it, offering a lifeline of hope and support during difficult times.
