Last week, the Langen fire department showcased their staggering endurance and fitness yet again at the annual SkyRun in Frankfurt Messetower. For the fourth consecutive year, these brave souls took on the grueling stair climb challenge, donning their full protective gear and breathing apparatus.
A total of twelve Langen firefighters divided into four teams tackled the daunting 1,200 steps up to the 61st floor of the towering 222-meter building. The SkyRun demands tough physical and mental fortitude and serves as a realistic stress test. The teams had been meticulously prepping for this intense race.
Team 1 Scores High 🏆
The Langen fire department's Team 1 stole the spotlight in the "Youngsters" category, clocking in at a mere 51 minutes and 12 seconds, securing themselves a well-deserved second-place finish. In the overall ranking of 110 competing teams, the Langeners took home placements 6, 33, 37, and 93.
The mix of veterans and rookies in this competition echoed the high level of deployment readiness and training standards within the Langen deployment department, as stated by the fire department itself.
