Get Your Running Shoes on for the Courage Run in Kiel!

Feeling brave? Head over to the Kiel Moorteich meadow on June 14th for the Courage Run! Everyone is welcome to join, may it be residents of Kiel or Plön, kids, adults, or even four-legged friends. Spectators are also encouraged to show their support. Plenty of information will be provided.

To ensure a smooth and safe event, registration is necessary. You can sign up at Kieler Fenster, Ambulant Center, Alte Lübecker Chaussee 1, 24114 Kiel, phone 0431-649 80-50, or the Davengo portal, or online at https://www.mut-lauf.de/anmeldung-kiel/. Registration closes on June 8th, and entry fees will be put towards the raffle.

This event isn't about racing to the finish line, but about showing solidarity and courage in the face of mental illnesses. Multiple counseling and support services will also be presented.

Public transportation users: The Moorteich meadow is close to the train station and located west of the intersection of Sophienblatt, Lübecker Chaussee, Hamburger Chaussee, and Königsweg (bus stop Rondeel).

Local representatives of the Courage Run have shared their reasons and program for the event. Participants from the Plön area are encouraged to join, too. Remember, mental illnesses are often overlooked, but they are as serious as visible injuries and diseases. It's crucial to stand up for those who need our support.

Even deciding to participate can be a challenge, as Florian Hebbel, a psychologist and former Kieler Fenster employee, knows, having been in a wheelchair since a swimming accident at 16. But the Courage Run is about community, empowerment, and overcoming challenges—an experience that leaves you feeling great!

Want to know more about the event, or need help getting there? Check out local event calendars, tourism websites, or mental health organizations in the city for the most accurate information. Spread the word, and let's run together for a cause!

P.S.: The Courage Run encourages participants to run, but walking or using a wheelchair is also an option. Several marathon runners will set a jogging example, and there's even a Bambini run (for kids up to 7 years old) and a Kids Courage Run! Don't forget to stick around for the fun activities and the Samba group Novos Carminhos on stage.
