Free emergency care instruction offered at the Ingolstadt Clinic
Ingolstadt Hospital, a regional focus provider, is taking a significant step towards promoting life-saving first aid measures by organising three action days from September 24-26, 2025. The events, held under the motto "Save a Life. 100% Resuscitation", aim to equip the public with essential skills to respond effectively in emergencies, particularly in cases of sudden cardiac arrest.
The Clinic for Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine at Ingolstadt Hospital is leading the action days. Prof. Dr. Martina Nowak-Machen, the director of the clinic, emphasises the importance of being prepared for emergencies. She stresses that knowing life-saving first aid measures can make a significant difference in saving lives.
On September 24, 2025, an information event with free "hands-on" training will take place at Ingolstadt Hospital from 12:00-16:00. This event offers an opportunity for attendees to learn practical skills that could potentially save lives.
The following day, September 25, 2025, an event will be held on Ingolstadt's town hall square from 10:00. This event will have Mayor Dr. Michael Kern in attendance. The session, scheduled from 9:30-13:00, will also provide free "hands-on" training.
The action on the town hall square will be followed by an information event at Westpark Ingolstadt on September 26, 2025, from 12:00-15:00.
Ingolstadt Hospital, with approximately 3,800 employees, treats around 33,000 inpatients/outpatients and 68,000 outpatients annually. The hospital offers treatment of complex diseases close to the patient's home, with 23 clinics and institutes at its disposal.
Prof. Dr. Jürgen Thomas Lutz, the head of the team for the Clinic of Anesthesiology and Intensive Medicine, will oversee the information events and free "hands-on" trainings during the Resuscitation Week.
The Press Office is associated with Ingolstadt Hospital, providing updates and information about the events and the hospital's services.
It is crucial to note that sudden cardiac death is a common cause of death in Germany. The helper rate in case of cardiac arrest is lower in Germany compared to other countries. These action days aim to raise awareness and empower the public to take action in emergencies.
