### Common Symptoms of Atrophic Gastritis

Symptoms can vary, with some patients asymptomatic, but often include loss of appetite, nausea, feeling full quickly after eating, epigastric pain or discomfort, headaches, heart palpitations, irritability (possibly due to anemia from vitamin B12 deficiency), numbness or tingling in hands and feet (neurological symptoms from B12 deficiency), trouble concentrating, and in severe cases, ulcers in the stomach lining, bleeding, or blood in vomit or stool.

Because the stomach lining is damaged, absorption of nutrients like vitamin B12 can be impaired, potentially leading to pernicious anemia and related neurological symptoms. Early diagnosis and tailored treatment help reduce complications and improve quality of life.
