Harmful bodily injuries reported at the Weibnerheim Farmers' Festival - 12 victims affected by an irritant
On the evening of July 19, 2025, an unfortunate incident occurred at the Webenheimer Bauernfest in Blieskastel. At approximately 23:15, an unknown perpetrator sprayed an irritant, believed to be pepper spray, in the area of the "Autoscooter" ride.
The incident resulted in at least twelve individuals, ranging in age from 11 to 38, suffering minor injuries. The affected individuals complained of breathing difficulties and nausea. Thankfully, no one needed to be taken to the hospital as a result of the incident.
Upon activation of the fog system, the substance spread throughout the ride area, causing chaos and panic. The injured individuals received initial medical treatment at the on-site medical tent.
The Homburg Police Station has initiated an investigation for dangerous bodily harm. Witnesses with information about the perpetrator or who were affected by the irritant are asked to contact the Homburg Police Station at 06841-1060.
