Honoring Women Sellers in Our Global Network on International Women's Day
In a remarkable show of solidarity and support, a unique campaign has been launched, aiming to uplift women entrepreneurs and empower them for sustained success. The "Inspiring Gifts for Inspiring Women" campaign, in partnership with Heifer International, brings together a diverse group of women who are making a difference in their respective fields.
Emmy award-winning actress Uzo Aduba has taken on the role of Heifer International's celebrity ambassador for this campaign. Aduba, known for her powerful performances, is using her platform to raise awareness and funds for a cause close to her heart.
At the heart of this campaign are Kara and Hannah Pendl, the owners of Karacotta and Hanspun, a small business specializing in handmade quality ceramics. Collaboration is a key aspect of their success, and they believe that "if you want to go far, go together." Their team, which includes Laura Evers (founder of Karacotta) and Eva Hanspun (founder of Hanspun), work together to create beautiful, sustainable pieces.
Miranda Bennett, owner of Miranda Bennett Studio in Austin, Texas, is another inspiring figure in this campaign. Her eco-friendly apparel brand is committed to sustainability, with in-house dyeing using plant-derived ingredients and 100% textile waste diversion from landfills. Miranda takes pride in fostering the professional growth of her all-women team and employs them with the same passion she puts into her work.
The campaign also includes Gifts that Give Back, allowing shoppers to donate directly to Heifer International. These symbolic gifts, ranging from $20 to $750, aim to reduce everyday barriers for small businesses, including women-owned small businesses, by expanding into online marketplaces.
For those interested in bidding and donating, the auction runs from March 5 to March 15 at eBay.com/heiferinternational. The special auction includes a visit to The Africa Center in New York with Uzo Aduba.
Sheila Hawkins-Bucklew, an entrepreneur, encourages aspiring entrepreneurs to "just do it," while Jessica Halich of Fancy Fluff advises being comfortable with making mistakes. Lauren White, a seller, recommends being flexible in approach while maintaining a clear goal.
This campaign is more than just a fundraiser; it's a testament to the power of collaboration and the resilience of women entrepreneurs. By supporting these businesses, you're not only contributing to a good cause but also investing in the future of women entrepreneurs. So, let's come together to make a difference and inspire change.
