"Individual expresses subpar well-being"
Howard Carpendale and Jürgen Drews, two legendary figures in the German music world, recently shared a special moment on stage during the 'Giovanni Zarrella Show - A Saturday Night with Howard Carpendale.'
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Carpendale expressed that standing next to Drews was a feeling he would never forget. The duo performed their classic hit, 'It Was All the Best,' a song that takes them back almost 60 years.
However, this reunion might be their last, as Drews, who announced his retirement from the stage in 2022, is not doing well according to Carpendale. Drews is suffering from the incurable nerve disease polyneuropathy, a condition that forced him to withdraw from the spotlight after his last stage appearance in October 2019 at the Megapark.
Despite his health challenges, Drews has been spotted at events like Heidi Klum's 'HeidiFest' at the Munich Hofbräuhaus, showing his resilience and love for the music industry.
The performance was deeply emotional, with both artists reflecting on the years spent together. Carpendale bid farewell to Drews during the show, expressing concern for his health and hoping for his recovery.
The show, dedicated to Carpendale, will celebrate his 60th anniversary on stage in 2026. Numerous companions and colleagues will join him in the celebration. Carpendale also emphasized that his upcoming tour in 2026 will be his last, but not his last concert.
This reunion moved Carpendale the most during the recording of the show, and he shared his feelings about the performance and his friend Jürgen Drews with his fans on Instagram. It was indeed a special night, filled with memories, emotions, and a poignant farewell.
