Listeria Outbreak: Walmart, Trader Joe's, Kroger Recall Frozen Meals
A public health alert has been issued due to a listeria outbreak linked to frozen precooked pasta meals. Consumers are advised not to consume certain products from Walmart, Trader Joe's, and Kroger. Four deaths and numerous illnesses have been reported across 15 states, including recent cases in California and Utah.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has recalled various frozen dinner ideas due to potential listeria contamination. Affected products include:
- Trader Joe's Cajun Style Blackened Chicken Breast Fettucine Alfredo with 'Best By' dates of September 20, 24, or 27, 2025.
- Marketside Linguine With Beef Meatballs & Marinara Sauce from Walmart.
Symptoms of listeriosis include fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, and convulsions. Consumers are urged to return or destroy the recalled dinner ideas. Those with questions can contact Nate's Fine Foods at 916-677-7303 between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. PST Monday through Friday.
FreshRealm has also recalled chicken fettuccine Alfredo recipes sold at Walmart and Kroger under different brand names. The outbreak has resulted in four deaths and affected 15 states, with new cases in California and Utah.
The FSIS advises consumers to check their freezers for the recalled dinner ideas and follow safety guidelines to prevent listeria infection. If you have consumed these dinner ideas and experience symptoms, seek medical attention immediately. The investigation into the outbreak is ongoing.
