Marburg Hosts Free Breast Cancer Awareness Events in October
The University Town of Marburg is hosting two free events this October to raise awareness about breast cancer and strengthen prevention. The first event is an information session about breast cancer screening, followed by a city walk called the 'October Walk'.
The information session will be held on Wednesday, October 22, from 5 PM, in the meeting room of the Baumts, Barfüßerstraße 11. It will feature gynecologists from the UKGM University Hospital Giessen and Marburg. Registration is required due to limited seating, via email to [email protected] or by phone at (06421) 201-1599.
The 'October Walk' will take place on Saturday, October 25, starting at 11 AM at the Aquamar parking lot, Sommerbadstraße 41. The walk is approximately four kilometers long, ending around 1 PM at the Aquamar, with a planned break along the route. Participants are encouraged to wear pink or rose clothing or accessories to increase visibility. No registration is required for the walk.
Both events are part of Marburg's observance of International Breast Cancer Awareness Month. They aim to educate and engage the community in the fight against breast cancer. Participants are welcome to join and show their support.
