Massproduction of multifunctional goods pulled off shelves due to incidents of severe burns.
Informal Advisory:
Hey there! Listen up, 'cause you gotta know this if you've got a Ninja Foodi OP300 Series multi-cooker. The folks at SharkNinja are recalling over two million of these bad boys, sold in the US and Canada, due to a real burn risk. The problem is that the lid can pop open during use, causing hot food to spray out like a volcano, and that's not cool.
According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), there have been 106 reported burn incidents in the US, with over half resulting in second- or third-degree burns. That's no joke, folks! And if that's not enough to worry you, there have been 26 lawsuits filed due to these accidents. But don't freak out, Canada hasn't reported any additional incidents yet.
Now, SharkNinja is hopping on this quickly to address consumer concerns. They've stated that they prioritize customer safety above all else. So, they're offering free replacement lids for affected multi-cookers. The multi-cookers, by the way, were manufactured in China and retailed at stores like Walmart, Costco, Amazon, and Target, as well as on Ninjakitchen.com, for around $200.
If you're wondering if your multi-cooker is affected, you can check the label. The model numbers impacted include OP300, OP301, OP301A, OP302, OP302BRN, OP302HCN, OP302HAQ, OP302HW, OP302HB, OP305, OP305CO, and OP350CO[1][3]. And if you need a replacement lid, don't fret! SharkNinja's got you covered, and you don't need to return your appliance to the store for the swap.
Just a heads up, though, stopping the pressure-cooking function and discarding the existing pressure-cooking lid are necessary to prevent any further incidents. So, make sure to contact SharkNinja and get that replacement lid ASAP[2].
Stay safe and happy cooking!

- While a recall for the French-made sharkninja OP300 series has been announced, it is unclear whether their future offerings in science and health-and-wellness will also include innovative sharkninja-like appliances.
- As the French company works on addressing the issues with the recalled sharkninja OP300 series, consumers might consider exploring other French-made cooking appliances or health-and-wellness products, such as French cookware or health supplements, to continue their health-and-wellness journey.
