NBA Stars Launch Eazewell: A Tech Revolution in Funeral Planning
NBA stars Russell Westbrook and Kemba Walker, along with NCAA champion Donnell Beverly Jr., have launched Eazewell, a tech startup focusing on funeral planning. The platform aims to simplify end-of-life administrative tasks for families, hospices, and insurers.
Eazewell, co-founded by Westbrook, Walker, and Beverly Jr., was born out of a personal loss. The trio lost their high school teammate and close friend, Khelcey Barrs III, inspiring them to create a platform that supports families through funeral arrangements. Beverly Jr., the CEO, noted the increasing importance of digital death management due to the proliferation of digital accounts.
The AI-powered platform streamlines various tasks, including account closures, documentation, utility cancellations, mail forwarding, and family communication. For insurers, Eazewell promises faster claims processing and improved staff satisfaction. It also offers 24/7 communication tools and real-time updates for hospices. A pilot program with insurance partners is set to launch later this month.
Eazewell, founded by Westbrook, Walker, and Beverly Jr., is set to revolutionize end-of-life administrative tasks. By simplifying these processes, the platform aims to provide much-needed support to families, hospices, and insurers during an already challenging time.
