Nursing Assistant Accused of Credit Card Theft at Oregon Medical Center

A local nursing assistant, Jeanette Collins, has been arrested and indicted by a grand jury for allegedly stealing and misusing a patient's credit card at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Hillsboro Medical Center.

The incident took place while the patient was receiving treatment at the medical center. The stolen credit card was later used in a "spending spree" that spanned across multiple counties, including Washington and Columbia Counties in Oregon.

Collins, a certified nursing assistant from Lafayette, Oregon, was indicted on June 13, 2025, on several charges including criminal mistreatment in the first degree, identity theft, theft in the second degree, and fraudulent use of a credit card.

The police are continuing to investigate the case and believe there may be additional victims. Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to contact the Scappoose Police Department at 503-543-3114. The case number for information related to the investigation is 240039389.

Collins worked at OHSU Hillsboro Medical Center at the time of the incident. She was taken into custody on July 15, 2025, and was booked into the Yamhill County Jail. No further details about the stolen credit card or the spending spree have been provided.
