The much-anticipated "BODY WORLDS & The Cycle of Life" exhibition is set to open its doors at the Hyparschale in Magdeburg on July 27, 2025, at 8:30 am. This unique event promises to take visitors on a journey through the human life cycle, showcasing real human bodies plastinated to illustrate development from conception to old age.

The exhibition, created by plastinator Gunther von Hagens, will run until September 7, 2025. It is centred around human development across all life stages, emphasising growth, aging, and health changes throughout the lifespan. Visitors can expect to see full-body plastinates, as well as numerous detailed body specimens, providing an unprecedented view inside the human body.

With around 150 real body specimens and about 20 full-body plastinates, the exhibition offers engaging educational content about anatomy, physiology, and how lifestyle affects health and aging. It aims to encourage reflection on one's own health.

Dr. Angelina Whalley, the exhibition's curator, reports that visitor interest exceeds expectations. More than 50,000 visitors have already seen "BODY WORLDS & The Cycle of Life" since its opening on May 16, 2025.

Tickets can be purchased at all known advance booking offices, on www.bodyworlds.de, by phone at 069 4272 62642 (Mon-Fri 9-6 pm), and at the box office. Group bookings and school classes can contact Reservix at the same number or via email at [email protected].

Interestingly, around 17% of visitors are school classes or groups, and about 12% come as families. Approximately half of the exhibition visitors come from outside Magdeburg, with more than 15% from other federal states.

The exhibition will be open late until 11 pm on August 2, 2025 (last admission at 10 pm). It will also be part of the Riverside@Night music festival on that day. The duration of stay is unlimited.

Attention is drawn to the fact that booking of time slots is required to ensure preferred entry within the booked time slot. This can be done through the reservation system provided by Reservix.

For those who are unable to attend during the specified hours, a Flex/Gift Ticket is available, which is valid on any day, but limited in quantity.

Dr. Gunther von Hagens, the inventor of plastination, made anatomy accessible to people outside of clinical and university environments. His work continues to inspire and educate, as demonstrated by the success of the "BODY WORLDS & The Cycle of Life" exhibition in Magdeburg.

The exhibition's combination of scientific precision with artistic presentation delivers powerful insights into the human condition, making it both educational and impactful. Don't miss this unique opportunity to explore the complexity, diversity, resilience, and fragility of the human body.
