Starting October 1st, parents can sous-vide their worries away with video consultations for their little ones, thanks to the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians in Hesse (KVH). This service, originally piloted on holidays for the past two years, will now be a permanent fixture in the pediatric on-call duty. 🤒
Armin Beck, the deputy chairman of the KVH, excitedly shares, "We've been testing this baby and the results are a-mazing! Our goal here is to save shipping these sick rugrats to the ER and long waiting times - and we're doing just that!" 🏥
So, how does the video consultation sausage get made? Simple! Parents of ailing kiddos (uh, make that yooooou) can dial 116117 between 9 am and 7 pm on certain days (think holidays, boo-ti-ful holidays!). Remembeh,runtime, Corpus Christi extended weekend? That was a thing. 🌟
After confirming the kindee's affliction, the staff assesses the situation and sets up an appointment with a pediatrician - all via video, y'all! 📺 All you have to do is follow a link to join the virtual sit-down with your pediatric pal.
But what if the doc needs to examine the kiddo up close and personal? No worries! The fam will be redirected to the nearest on-call center promptly for some good ol' fashioned hands-on treatment. 👩⚕️👨⚕️
Not so fast – not all ailments are suitable for online treatment. Heavy fevers or severe injuries demand a personal touch, so it's best to leave those at the doctor's office. However, milder issues like rashes, conjunctivitis, stomach flu, or prescription requests can be easily managed via video! 🤒
The service made its grand debut on October 3rd, 2023 during a delightful holiday weekend. Since then, about 1,500 kiddos have been treated via video consultation around holidays. And come October 1st, the service will be offered every week! Wednesdays and Fridays from 2 pm to midnight, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 7 pm to midnight, and weekends from 7 am to 7 pm! ⌛️
