Regional Heart Care Transformed: 17K Treated, 70 New Machines

The 'Fighting Cardiovascular Diseases' program, part of the national 'Healthy Lifestyle' project, is transforming medical care for cardiovascular patients in the region. High-tech equipment is now available in local clinics, previously only found in regional centers. This has led to a significant increase in treatments and examinations.

Over 17,000 patients with acute cerebrovascular disorders and over 10,000 with acute coronary syndrome have been treated in regional vascular centers and primary vascular departments. More than 30 arterial embolizations, a minimally invasive procedure, have been performed in regional vascular centers (RVCs) over the past two years. This number is expected to grow as more high-tech equipment becomes available.

The regional vascular center in Armavir has expanded its capabilities with the installation of a second angiograph since late 2012. This has allowed for more diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. As of the beginning of the year, over 9,000 coronary interventions have been performed in RVCs. The purchase of over 70 units of new equipment last year has enabled over 500,000 examinations to be conducted.

The 'Fighting Cardiovascular Diseases' program is successfully implementing high-tech and specialized medical care for cardiovascular patients in the region. With the expansion of RVCs and PVDs, and the purchase of new equipment, more patients are receiving timely and effective treatment. The acting Minister of Health of the Krasnodar Territory, Yevgeny Filipпов, has reported these developments and the positive impact on patient care.
