In the heart of Bavaria, several towns and cities are coming together to raise awareness about dementia during the Bavarian Dementia Week, which runs from September 16 to 28, 2025.
Kicking off the week, the District of Fuerth will participate on September 17, 2025. The events continue in Cadolzburg, where several activities are scheduled, such as a storytelling café for affected persons and relatives on September 23, 2025, and a singing event under the motto 'Sing with' on September 25, 2025.
On September 26, 2025, visitors can expect a cinema afternoon with coffee and cake in Veitsbronn, a reading in Langenzenn, and an action stand in Forum Stein. In Cadolzburg, Doris Last will deliver a lecture titled 'Dementia - Myth or Truth,' during which activity boxes for people with dementia will be presented.
The 'Don't forget me' Stammtisch will take place in Ammerndorf on September 25, 2025, while a dementia parcours will be offered in Langenzenn on September 9, 2025, and in Wilhermsdorf on October 7, 2025.
Zirndorf will host the opening of the exhibition 'Demensch' by cartoonist Peter Gaymann on September 22, 2025. The institutions participating include the Local Alliance for People with Dementia working group in Zirndorf, the Dementia and Care Specialist Office of Middle Franconia, and the Sparkasse Zirndorf. The exhibition will run for 14 days and is presented by 'Dementia-Friendly Zirndorf' together with the Sparkasse.
Moreover, on September 16, 2025, a memory training event will place in the citizens' house in Langenzenn. Tanja Maier, Yvonne Goetz from the AWO specialist department for caring relatives, and the dementia-friendly community Stein will be present at the action stand in Forum Stein on September 26, 2025.
The week will conclude with an ecumenical service with the theme 'Dementia & Remembering' in Cadolzburg on September 28, 2025. Individual consultations on the topic of dementia will also be available in Veitsbronn's Linden pharmacy on September 23, 2025, from 10 AM to 1 PM.
