Nashville authorities have shared some key details about the Covenant School shooter, Audrey Hale, during a press conference. Among these, Chief John Drake revealed Hale’s presence of an "emotional disorder" and the legality of the weapon purchases.
When quizzed about Hale's source of the seven guns found at the crime scene, Drake revealed they were legitimately obtained from five local gun stores. "Three of those weapons were used during the dreadful incident of March 27th," Drake added.
On a somber note, Drake shared that Hale was in the care of medical professionals for a diagnosed mental illness. However, the police department remained unaware of the treatment Hale was receiving.
Concerning the motive behind the heinous act, Drake suggested that the victims were apparently chosen at random. "No specific student was the main target," he commented.
Intriguingly, the FBI, in the released documentation, disclosed Hale’s writings, hinting at personal struggles and a desire to end life. However, no specific mental health diagnosis or a detailed history of treatment is available in the reports. Furthermore, the exact weapons used in the shooting are yet to be disclosed by the authorities.
