In the Belgorod region of Russia, a series of drone attacks have been causing chaos and disruption in recent days. The latest incident involved a high-rise building in Belgorod city that was set ablaze by a drone attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The fire, which occurred on a specific day in August, was captured on video and is available for viewing on various platforms such as VKontakte, OK.ru, Telegram, Viber, and WhatsApp. This incident is just one of several drone attacks that have been reported in the region.

According to Russian sources, over 50–60 Ukrainian drones were reported destroyed in a single day in the Belgorod region by Russian air defenses. Earlier reports on August 22 mention 3 drones shot down over Belgorod specifically. These drones, often of the "Lyutyi" type, have been flying low enough to cause windows to shake and car alarms to activate, causing fear among the residents.

The attacks have not been without casualties. On August 14, a Ukrainian drone crashed into a car in Belgorod city, injuring three people with shrapnel wounds and burns. A drone strike also claimed the life of a person in the nearby village of Pristen.

Ukrainian forces have not limited their attacks to aerial drone assaults. They have also targeted Russian logistics in the region by destroying at least two bridges used by Russian military supply lines. These operations used FPV drones to detonate anti-tank mines placed under the bridges, significantly disrupting Russian operations near the border.

The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, has stated that the situation in the region, particularly in the border areas, is changing daily and often for the worse. In response, the authorities have bolstered security measures to protect the region's population.

In a proactive move, Governor Gladkov has emphasized the importance of educating children in the border areas on first aid skills. He reported that they conducted classes for 60,000 children in summer camps on first aid skills.

These developments illustrate a continued and intensified drone warfare campaign by Ukraine in the Belgorod region as part of the broader conflict with Russia. The escalating tensions in the region have resulted in significant disruptions and casualties, serving as a reminder of the ongoing conflict and the potential risks to the region's civilian population.
