This image is taken indoors. In the background there is a wall and there are two lights. A few people are sitting on the chairs and there is a table with a few things on it. In the middle of the image there is a table with a bottle, a menu card and an ashtray on it. Two men and a woman are sitting on the chairs and they are smoking. They are holding cigarettes in their hands.

Smoking & Cancer Awareness: Medical Experts & Survivor Share Stories

Two informative events are set to take place in the morning, featuring medical professionals and a survivor sharing their stories about smoking and cancer. The first event, from 9:30 to 11:00 and again from 11:20 to 12:50, will include Dr. med. Tobias Merk, Cornelia Knapp, Dr. med. Uschi Traub, and a cancer survivor. The location, however, is not specified.

The events aim to educate attendees about the health consequences of smoking and new consumption forms like e-cigarettes, shishas, and nicotine pouches. Visitors can participate in interactive formats and learn about lung function tests, lung cancer, and smoking cessation. The lung model, usually reserved for students of the vocational school center (BSZ) Bietigheim-Bissingen until 15 o'clock, will be available for external groups from 15 o'clock onwards. This model displays the anatomical structure of the airways, bronchi, lung alveoli, and various lung diseases. An over five-meter-long walk-through lung model will also be available, accompanied by a doctor, from 9 to 18 o'clock.

Registration and further information about the event can be obtained from Mandy Bronner and Dr. Uschi Traub from the department of health promotion and health planning at the health department.

The action day is a valuable opportunity for both young people and adults to learn about the health risks of smoking and explore prevention paths. The interactive lung model and informative sessions with medical professionals and a survivor promise an enlightening experience.
