St. Josef Hospital Launches New Self-Help Group for Obesity Patients
St. Josef Hospital in Bad Driburg is launching a new self-help group for obesity patients this October. The group aims to provide a safe space for exchange, motivation, and mutual support. The first meeting will take place on Wednesday, October 8, at 7 p.m., with no registration required.
The group will meet on the second Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. in conference room U38 of the hospital. Dr. Florian Dietl, chief physician of the clinic for general and visceral surgery, will give an opening lecture discussing the possibilities, risks, and chances of severe obesity. The interdisciplinary team at the Adipositas Hochstift Reference Center, which began comprehensive treatment of obesity 15 years ago and treats over 500 patients annually, focuses on individual and long-term care to achieve a lasting improvement in quality of life. The center offers a range of treatments, from conservative therapy to surgical interventions. The self-help group is led by Christin Nissen and Janina Piwon.
