Company Doctor Services in Demand, According to YouGov Survey
A recent survey by YouGov, commissioned by SBK Siemens company health insurance, has revealed that a significant number of employees are in favour of expanded services offered by company doctors.
The survey, conducted from July 25 to 28, 2025, found that 52% of respondents have already utilised company doctor services at least once. Among these, the most popular service was the vision test, with 48% of respondents opting for it. Vaccinations followed closely, with 47% of respondents seeking this service. Initial and fitness examinations were used by 35% of those who have visited the company doctor.
Interestingly, psychosocial counseling and ergonomic work consultations were also among the services offered, with 10% and 25% of respondents respectively making use of these services. Company doctor services can be conveniently scheduled during lunch breaks or between meetings.
However, 46% of respondents have never used company doctor services. Some employees find it beneficial to have health appointments, such as general check-ups or other vaccinations, at their workplace, making company doctor services an attractive option.
Company doctors in Munich primarily offer services related to workplace safety. The survey did not provide specific information about the most common services offered by company doctors across different locations.
Despite the popularity of company doctor services, there is still a demand for more medical services to be offered. According to the survey, 63% of employees aged 18 and over believe that company doctors should offer more medical services.
This survey provides valuable insights into the demand for and utilisation of company doctor services. As more companies consider implementing these services, understanding the preferences and needs of employees will be crucial in shaping the services offered.
Employees are expressing a desire for expanded medical services at their workplace, with 63% believing that company doctors should offer more health and wellness services, such as psychosocial counseling and mental health support, in addition to the existing workplace-wellness services. Moreover, the demand for health-and-wellness services extends beyond basic physical health, with a significant number of employees acknowledging the importance of mental health in the workplace.
