The news of her death was announced by fellow actress Larissa Mendizabal and showbiz journalist Álex Kaffie. Renata faced a relentless battle against cervical cancer for more than three years, with the disease eventually spreading to her kidneys, lungs, liver, and spinal column.

Renata's courageous struggle included numerous medical treatments and hospitalizations, culminating in her decision to cease chemotherapy due to devastating side effects in July 2024. Despite this setback, she sought alternative treatments, but they too proved ineffective in stopping the aggressive cancer's progression.

As Renata's health deteriorated, she frequently took to social media to share her struggles and ask for financial aid to cover her escalating medical expenses. Despite her pain and the grim prognosis, Renata maintained a positive attitude, expressing her longing for love, life, and the desire to make memories with her son, Mateo, who was her lifeline throughout her ordeal.

In one of her final posts, she wrote:

"I yearn for the sweetness of love, to fall in love again, to make love and tremble with a sunset. Thank you, God, thank you, life."

Her friend and colleague, Anahí Fraser, shared an emotional tribute on Instagram, promising to care for Mateo and highlighting Renata's unwavering optimism and strength.

Renata began her acting career in 2001 with her debut in the telenovela Cuando seas mía. Throughout her career, she garnered accolades and adoration for her work in numerous television series such as Lo que callamos las mujeres, Rutas de la vida, Un día cualquiera, Vencer el desamor, Amar a muerte, and Control Z. The actress's talent and charisma earned her a devoted fanbase and the admiration of her peers.

Her funeral services will take place in San Luis Potosí, where she resided under the care of her sister-in-law. The specific causes of her death are yet to be announced.
