A tragic incident occurred on City Day in the Novovarshavsky district, resulting in the unfortunate death of a 32-year-old tractor driver. The incident, which took place around 7 PM, involved a hay baling machine, underscoring the importance of adhering to safety guidelines when operating farm machinery.

The concerts of "The Brothers Grimm" and "Yin-Yang", previously announced for City Day, will proceed as scheduled at the designated location. The start times for both concerts have been announced: "The Brothers Grimm" will commence at 5 PM, followed by "Yin-Yang" at 7 PM.

The Investigative Committee of the Omsk region is currently conducting a preliminary investigation to determine whether a criminal case should be initiated. The accident serves as a grim reminder of the potential hazards associated with farm machinery, particularly those with rotating parts.

When working with such machinery, it's crucial to follow specific safety guidelines. These include fully guarding rotating parts, avoiding loose clothing or jewelry, recognising and respecting hazard zones, using lockout/tagout procedures, maintaining equipment properly, following operator manuals and receiving proper training, employing personal protective equipment, and for tractors, ensuring Roll Over Protective Structures (ROPS) and seat belts are present.

These rules are designed to prevent injuries such as entanglement, crushing, amputations, and lacerations caused by the powerful motion of rotating farming machine parts. Failure to adhere to these guidelines often results in catastrophic injuries or fatalities on farms.

The press service of the agency has issued a reminder to everyone to strictly follow these safety rules when using machinery, emphasising the importance of prioritising safety over productivity. It is a sombre reminder of the potential consequences of negligence, and a call to action for all to take safety seriously.
