Tragic Death of Fruitarian Woman in Bali Resort

A tragic incident has occurred at the Sumberkima Hill resort in Bali. A 27-year-old woman, Karolina Krzyzak, has passed away after adopting a fruitarian diet. She weighed just three-and-a-half stone at the time of her death.

Karolina's health rapidly declined while staying at the resort. Staff grew increasingly concerned as she became severely emaciated. They eventually had to carry her to her room and even assist her in turning over in bed. The resort's kitchen staff, following Karolina's request, delivered only fruit to her room. However, this diet, consisting primarily of fruits, was not sustainable and led to severe malnourishment. Dieticians warn that a fruitarian diet can pose significant health risks, including malnourishment and loss of muscle mass. A concerned individual who had met Karolina during travels alerted the staff to check on her, leading to the grim discovery of her death.

Karolina's tragic passing serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of extreme diets. If you or someone you know is struggling with eating disorders, help is available. The BEAT Eating Disorders helpline can be reached at 0808 801 0677 for support.
