Transformed identity, constant mission: Family base ELISA renamed as Ankerplatz
Switched Gears, Same Focus: Family Support Center Becomes Anchor Point
📢 Announcement
In a bold move, the Family Support Center ELISA has transformed into "Anchor Point" as of March 2025. Discover the rationale behind this refreshing name change, the Students from TUI's "Management in Health Professions" course involvement, and the exciting new services on offer now!
Transitioning Not Transforming
The catchy new name, Anchor Point, stems from a collaboration with budding minds at TUI. The original moniker, ELISA Family Care, ended up unappealing to many by virtue of the term 'children with severe, chronic, and terminal illnesses.' The students, via a democratic voting process, presented relevant alternatives that resonate with the core audience. Anchor Point garnered a clear majority vote.
Empowerment at the Helm
Anchor Point encompasses ideas of safety, camaraderie, and community. "Families should feel at home here, somewhere they can unwind, share thoughts, and rejuvenate," shares Maria Lindau, Director of Family Support Center Anchor Point. "Families, no matter their challenges, can look to Anchor Point for guidance and support."
Launched in 2022, the Family Support Center had a strong focus on inclusion from day one. Findings from a parental survey underlined the value parents placed on the interaction between children with and without disabilities. "Our dedication to evolving services is further validated by this feedback," Lindau confirmed.
Inclusive offerings, such as parent-child groups, music and movement sessions, and family counseling, form the current service menu.
Inclusion: A Collective Effort
Inclusion is more than just a societal ideal – it's a task requiring community-wide support. The Family Support Center Anchor Point works tirelessly to eliminate obstacles, enabling all families to engage in societal life. "For inclusion to succeed, it needs the backing of educational institutions, clubs, politics, and society at large," insists Nadine Dier, CEO of ELISA Family Care. "A positive attitude is paramount. Inclusion should be seen as an enrichment for all. It fosters social cohesion, promotes equal opportunities, and taps into the potential of every person. Ingolstadt is on the right path, and stepping back isn't an option."
💡 Fun Fact:Maria Lindau concludes that standing still is a step backward — progressive movements are crucial to maintaining momentum. Remember, sails must catch the wind to set their course! 🌬️🚣♀️✨
