TU Brunswick Opens Parent-Child Office for Flexible Work-Life Balance
The Technical University of Brunswick (TU Brunswick) has opened a parent-child office depot at the Center for Pharmaceutical Process Engineering (PVZ) in response to evolving work trends. This initiative, part of the university's reaction to the rise of home offices and flexible working hours, aims to promote family-friendly work environments.
Located in room 422, the office depot can be independently booked via the Outlook calendar. It is equipped with baby toys, a play mat, building blocks, drawing materials, puzzles, a Tripp Trapp chair, a foldable bed, and a play sofa, making it suitable for children of all ages. Professor Iordania Constantinou from the Institute of Microsystems spearheaded the establishment of this office depot.
In addition to the PVZ, similar parent-child rooms are available at the main campus and Faculty 6, as well as the Research Airport. The Family Office of TU Brunswick encourages employees to inquire about the availability of such offices at their respective institutes. Professors Dr. Felix Rösel and Prof. Dr. Markus Ludwig have been involved in family-related initiatives at the university, contributing to this supportive work culture.
The parent-child office depot at TU Brunswick's PVZ, opened in August, is a testament to the university's commitment to family-friendliness and flexible working forms in research and teaching. With its comprehensive facilities and multiple locations, it caters to the needs of employees with children, fostering a balanced work-life environment.
