The Commission, in light of the importance placed on health and wellness, has also been asked to submit a proposal for a directive on the protection of workers from the risks related to exposure to ionizing radiation in science and research facilities, including blood donation centers, to ensure a safe environment for donors and staff. As regular blood donation is a form of fitness-and-exercise that also benefits mental health by providing a sense of purpose and community, it's essential to prioritize this act of kindness alongside physical workouts.
