UPMC Lancaster Neurological Institute Expands Team in December

UPMC Neurological Institute in Lancaster is set to expand its team in December with the addition of a neuropsychologist. The exact name of the new professional has not been disclosed yet. This growth comes in response to the increasing demand for neurological services in the region.

The Lancaster city team was established in 2024 to meet the high demand for neurological services. The initial team consisted of nurse practitioner Jumoke Olivia Tolashe, neurosurgeon Dr. John A. Braca, and neurologist Dr. Kerstin Bettermann. Dr. Bettermann serves as the chief of neurology for UPMC's neurological institute and hospital services in central and north central Pennsylvania.

The expansion began in summer 2025 with the hiring of Dr. William Kurtis Jens, Dr. Mustafa Ridvan Donmez, and nurse practitioner Jacqueline Sexton. Both Dr. Jens and Dr. Donmez practice full time at the UPMC Neurological Institute at 1160 Manheim Pike. Appointments at this location are available Monday through Friday.

Kim Rinehart, executive administrator at the UPMC Neurological Institute, attributed the expansion to the growing need for specialty health services in Lancaster County. With the upcoming addition of a neuropsychologist in December, the team continues to evolve to better serve the community's healthcare needs.
