Women Assaulted While Driving on a Public Highway
In the early hours of Sunday, 7th September, two disturbing incidents occurred in the city of Braunschweig, Germany. The Police Braunschweig is currently investigating these incidents, and anyone with information is urged to come forward.
At around 3:00 a.m., a 24-year-old woman was riding an E-scooter on the streets when a man on a bicycle approached from behind and kicked her scooter, causing her to fall. The attacker, described as having a southern European appearance and wearing a hooded pullover with the hood pulled over his head, then attempted to snatch her handbag. However, the woman fought back and kicked the attacker, causing him to flee.
A few minutes later, another incident occurred on Rudolfstraße near Petristraße. A 21-year-old woman was walking home around the same time when she was attacked from behind. The perpetrator, who is believed to be the same man, attempted to assault her. The woman screamed loudly, causing the attacker to flee. Both women sustained minor injuries from the attacks.
The Criminal Police is investigating whether there is a connection between the two incidents through two separate investigations led by the local Central Criminal Service. Witnesses who may have observed something at the crime scenes or in the vicinity, or who have other information, are asked to come forward.
